ANGELES CITY, Pampanga — Operatives of the Criminal Investigation and Detection Group (CIDG) Regional Field Unit 3 (RFU 3) arrested a suspected drug dealer and seized unlicensed firearms, grenade, ammunition, and shabu worth more than P400,000 in an operation in Bgy. Amsic, this city.
CIDG RFU 3 chief Col. Grant A. Gollod identified the arrested suspect as alias “Leo.”
Joint personnel of the CIDG Angeles City Field Unit, the PNP-Special Action Force (SAF) 25th SAC, and the 25AB led by Lt. Allan S. Casaclang Jr. arrested the suspect.
The arrest was based on a warrant issued by the Regional Trial Court, Angeles City, for violations of Republic Act 10591 or the Comprehensive Firearms and Ammunition Regulation Act, RA 9516 or Illegal Possession of Explosives, and RA 9165 or the Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002.
Gollod said police recovered during the sting a government issued Colt .45 pistol, a Taurus 9mm pistol, a Remington Rand .45 pistol, magazines, and over 70 assorted live rounds; one hand grenade; drug paraphernalia; and 12 plastic sachets containing shabu weighing around 60 grams with an estimated street value of P408,000.
According to the CIDG, surveillance confirmed earlier reports that the suspect was involved in the illegal drug trade and was keeping unlicensed firearms.
Verification with the Regional Civil Service Unit 3 further revealed that the suspect is not a licensed firearm holder.
The suspect and the seized evidence were brought to the CIDG Angeles CFU for documentation.
Charges for violations of RA 10591, RA 9516, and Sections 11 and 12, Article II of RA 9165 were filed against the arrested suspect.
