SENATE President Vicente Sotto III on Monday directed the Senate Blue Ribbon Committee to issue show cause orders against individuals who failed to respond to Senate subpoenas during the continuation of the flood control projects controversy investigation.
The committee noted that all invited resource persons were present except for former lawmaker Zaldy Co, and resource person Orly Guteza.
Sotto instructed the committee to deliberate on the appropriate action, including the possible issuance of show cause orders and, eventually, warrants of arrest for their non-appearance.
The Senate President emphasized that the Senate will exercise its powers to compel attendance, in aid of legislation, and ensure accountability in the ongoing probe. (Senate Public Relations and Information Bureau)
