FORMER Senator Ramon “Bong” Revilla Jr. on Monday night surrendered to the authorities in Camp Crame, Quezon City.
Revilla surrendered amid the arrest warrant issued by the Sandiganbayan over alleged flood control project anomalies in Bulacan.
The former senator said he was informed of the arrest warrant issued against him.
He lamented what he described as the seeming lack of due process.
“Nakatanggap po kami ng impormasyon na lumabas po ang aking warrant of arrest. Nakakalungkot po, parang wala po yatang due process,” he said.
“Pero gayun pa man, haharapin ko ito ng walang takot. At alam kong hindi ako papabayaan ng Diyos dahil wala akong kasalanan dito,” Revilla said.
The Sandiganbayan Third Division released arrest warrants and hold departure orders against Revilla and his co-accused assistant district engineer Brice Hernandez, engineer Jaypee Mendoza, engineer Arjay Domasig, engineer Emelita Juat, DPWH Bulacan First District Engineering Office finance section chief Juanito Mendoza, and DPWH Bulacan First District Engineering Office cashier Christina Pineda.
Revilla and the six other officials of the Department of Public Works and Highways Bulacan 1st District Engineering Office were charged with malversation and graft in connection to a P92.8 million ghost flood control project in Pandi, Bulacan.
