15-YEAR-OLD BOY HAMMERS MOTHER TO DEATH, DUMPS BODY IN SEPTIC TANK

A MALE teenager on Sunday admitted to killing his own mother using a hammer and dumping her body into a septic tank following an argument in their home in Bgy. Looc, Panglao, Bohol.

The victim was a 46-year-old teacher and a single parent.

Her body was found on Saturday inside an abandoned septic tank in the village.

An investigation showed that prior to the killing, the mother scolded her 15-year-old son for repeatedly cutting classes and frequent absences.

At the height of the heated argument, the son allegedly grabbed a hammer and struck his mother several times in the head.

Fearing that the mother had died, the boy allegedly dragged her body into an old septic tank and covered it with rocks.

Investigators also found out that the teenager allegedly attempted to clean bloodstains inside their home..The murder was discovered after some relatives and neighbors smelled foul odor and noticed flies near the septic tank. They immediately sought the help of the barangay authorities and the police.

The minor suspect voluntarily presented himself to police authorities, accompanied by his legal counsel, guardians, and local Social Welfare and Development officer.

He was placed under the protective custody of the Panglao Municipal Social Welfare and Development Office for appropriate intervention and necessary legal proceedings.
