THE “Oplan Pagtugis” campaign by the Criminal Investigation and Detection Group (CIDG) on Monday hauled to jail two high-ranking wanted persons in separate manhunt operations in Bulacan and Zambales.
CIDG Regional Field Unit 3 chief Col. Grant Gollod identified the first suspect as alias “Cruz, 47, a farmer and a resident of Bgy. Catacte, Bustos, Bulacan.
Alias “Cruz” was listed as the no. 9 most wanted person at the provincial level by the Bulacan Police Provincial Office.
The suspect was arrested in Bulacan Heights, Bgy. Catacte by joint operatives of the CIDG Bulacan Provincial Field Unit and the Bustos police.
Operatives served a warrant of arrest for homicide under Article 249 of the Revised Penal Code issued by the Regional Trial Court Branch 77 in Malolos City, Bulacan.
In a separate operation earlier that day, CIDG agents arrested alias “Nacho,” 37, in Olongapo City, Zambales.
Alias “Nachor,” a resident of Marilao, Bulacan, was listed as the no. 8 most wanted person at the regional level in Central Luzon.
He was apprehended on 3rd St., West Bajac-Bajac by operatives of the CIDG Olongapo City Field Unit, in coordination with the Regional Special Operations Group of Police Regional Office 3, based on a warrant issued by the Regional Trial Court Branch 22 in Malolos City, Bulacan for rape.
Both suspects are under police custody for documentation and proper disposition before being presented to the courts that issued their respective warrants.
Gollod said the arrests underscored its continued efforts to track down fugitives and ensure that persons facing serious criminal charges are brought to justice.
