THE Philippine National Police has released a computerized facial composite sketch of one of the suspects in the killing of radioman Juan Jumalon also known as “Johnny Walker” in Calamba, Misamis Occidental.
The PNP said the suspect served as a lookout.
In a press briefing at Camp Bagong Diwa in Taguig, PNP chief Gen. Benjamin Acorda said that based on CCTV footages, two armed men entered the compound of Jumalon before dawn Sunday.
One of the suspects barged in the home-based radio station of the victim located in Bgy. Don Bernardo A. Neri in Calamba and shot him before fleeing.
Jumalon, 57, was having a live broadcast in his radio program 94.7 Calamba Gold FM when shot at 5:35 a.m. on Sunday.
The broadcaster was rushed to the Calamba District Hospital, where he succumbed to a gunshot wound in the face.
The National Bureau of Investigation (NBI) has initiated its own investigation into the killing of Jumalon.
Justice Assistant Secretary and spokesperson Mico Clavano confirmed the NBI investigation.
“Yes, the NBI is actively handling the investigation,” Clavano said.
