CAMP OLIVAS, City of San Fernando, Pampanga — Police Regional Office 3 (PRO3) has solved the murder of a South Korean businessman following the arrest of the suspects less than three days after the victim’s body was found inside an abandoned vehicle in Nueva Ecija.
A report to PRO3 director Brig. Gen. Jess B. Mendez showed that on June 19, investigators had identified and arrested two suspects allegedly involved in the killing, including the suspected gunman and a female suspect believed to have participated in planning the crime.
Authorities also recovered the firearm allegedly used in the murder and the getaway vehicle.
The lifeless body of the 37-year-old South Korean trader was discovered inside an abandoned Ford Everest in Bgy. Pias, General Tinio, Nueva Ecija on June 17.
The victim was reportedly engaged in the distribution of Korean beauty products in the Philippines.
The discovery prompted an intensive investigation involving crime scene processing, intelligence operations, CCTV backtracking, forensic analysis, and coordinated efforts among several police units, which resulted in the arrest of the suspects.
Murder charges have already been filed against the suspects.
Mendez commended the investigators and operating units for the speedy resolution of the case.
“The successful resolution of this case in less than three days demonstrates the dedication, professionalism, and operational capability of our police personnel,” Mendez said.
“This accomplishment reflects our commitment to the PNP Focused Agenda of chief PNP Gen. Jose Melencio C. Nartatez Jr., through the intensified implementation of Enhanced Managing Police Operations and the delivery of “Serbisyong Mabilis, Tapat, at Nararamdaman,’” he added.
The PRO3 chief emphasized that the regional police force remains committed to ensuring public safety, protecting both Filipinos and foreign nationals, and bringing perpetrators of crimes to justice.
