PEÑARANDA POLICE POSTS MAJOR ACCOMPLISHMENTS UNDER NEW OIC

PEÑARANDA, Nueva Ecija — The Peñaranda Municipal Police Station (MPS) has recorded significant gains in law enforcement and peace and order efforts during the first month of officer-in-charge Capt. Silvestre C. Colanza.

Major accomplishments include the successful anti-illegal drug operations, arrests of wanted persons, recovery of loose firearms, and intensified enforcement of local ordinances.

From May 21 to June 21, the  Peñaranda police arrested three individuals involved in illegal drugs and confiscated approximately three grams of suspected shabu with an estimated street value of P20,400.

Stepped up operations against wanted persons resulted in the arrest of seven wanted felons.

Among those caught were three most wanted persons, including the town’s no. 1 most wanted and the province’s  no. 5 most wanted for sexual assault.

In the campaign against loose firearms and criminality, authorities facilitated the surrender of two firearms — a cal. .38 revolver and a cal..22 magnum revolver with four rounds of ammunition. 

The police station likewise received the voluntary surrender of 16 reams and nine packs of counterfeit tobacco products valued at P10,163, bolstering government efforts against illicit trade and tax evasion.

One of the Peñaranda Municipal Police Station’s notable accomplishments was the strict implementation of  ordinances. 

Through sustained checkpoint operations and Oplan Sita, police confiscated 167 modified mufflers. 

Authorities said no index crime under the eight focus crimes was recorded in the municipality during the period, reflecting the effectiveness of crime prevention and law enforcement measures.

Officials attributed the accomplishments to the leadership of Colanza and the guidance of Nueva Ecija Police Provincial Office director Col. Ritchie R. Claravall, Police Regional Office 3 director Brig. Gen. Jess B. Mendez, and Philippine National Police chief Gen. Jose Melencio C. Nartatez Jr..
