OPERATIVES of the Philippine National Police Criminal Investigation and Detection Group (PNP-CIDG) on Tuesday raided a Chinese-owned warehouse in Imus City, Cavite and seized an estimated P700 million worth of counterfeit footwear.
Members of the PNP-CIDG Cavite Provincial Field Unit conducted the raid on the strength of a mission order and letter of authority issued by the Bureau of Customs (BOC).
Confiscated were around P700 million worth of suspected smuggled and counterfeit Adidas, On Cloud, New Balance, ASICS, Crocs, Nike, Puma, Converse, Skechers, and Louis Vuitton footwear and other products.
All seized items were turned over to the BoC for documentation and proper disposition.
The CIDG said the Chinese owner of the facility remains at large and is facing charges for estafa, in relation to Republic Act 10175 or the Cybercrime Prevention Act of 2012.
