AURORA BOARD MEMBER, SECRETARY NABBED OVER P260,000 TRANSPO SERVICES DEAL

BALER, Aurora —  An Indigenous Peoples Mandatory Representative in the Aurora Provincial Board and his secretary were arrested in an entrapment operation over an alleged irregularity involving a P260,000 payment for transportation services rendered during the 2025 Indigenous Peoples Day.

In a report to Police Regional Office 3 (PRO3) director Brig. Gen. Jess Mendez, the operation was conducted by personnel of the Baler Municipal Police at Honesto Restaurant on Quezon corner Carrasco Streets in Barangay 1.

Arrested were alias Ranie, a 45-year-old Board member, and his secretary alias Rolyn, 35.

Police said the operation stemmed from a complaint filed regarding an alleged irregularity in the payment for transportation services provided during the 2025 IP Day.

Authorities said the concerned parties met at the restaurant and  after the suspects received the P260,000, the operating team arrested the duo and recovered the marked money.

The suspects, who are now detained at the Baler Police Station, will be charged with  violation of Republic Act 3019 or the Anti-Graft and Corrupt Practices Act.
