ANGELES CITY – Police on Friday arrested a 46-year-old Nigerian national tagged as a high-value individual (HVI) in a buy-bust operation that also led to the seizure of 3,510 suspected ecstasy tablets worth P5.967 million in Bgy. Balibago, this city.
According to Angeles City police director Col. Robert Domingo, the entrapment was conducted by personnel of Police Station 4 together with various intelligence and anti-drug units of the Central Luzon police, in coordination with the Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency Region 3.
Domingo said the suspect, who resides in Mabalacat City, Pampanga, was included on the list of high-value drug personalities.
Seized were 3,510 suspected ecstasy tablets with a standard drug price of P5,967,000, along with the marked money used in the operation.
Police Regional Office 3 (PRO3) director Brig. Gen. Jess B. Mendez credited the operation to sustained intelligence gathering and coordination among the participating units.
He said the operation demonstrated the effectiveness of the JBM Kuyog System, which promotes information-sharing and coordinated police action.
Mendez said the regional police would continue intelligence-driven anti-drug operations to dismantle drug distribution networks and prevent illegal substances from reaching communities, particularly the youth.
The operation supports the PNP Focused Agenda of chief PNP Gen. Jose Melencio C. Nartatez Jr., particularly its campaign against illegal drugs.
