OPERATIVES of the Regional Highway Patrol Unit 4A under the supervision of RHPU 4A chief Col. Rommel C. Estolano have hauled to jail two motorcycle thieves in Bauan, Batangas.
Arrested were Alex Mariano and Edison Dalman.
The arrest of the suspects was a result of the intensified operations by the RHPU 4A against carnapping in Calabarzon (Cavite, Laguna, Batangas, Rizal, Quezon) region.
Joint members of the Philippine Highway Patrol Team Batangas and the Bauan Municipal Police Station led by Capt. German Jones under PHPT- Batangas provincial officer Maj. Jason Sto. Domingo launched the operation.
Prior to the arrest of Mariano and Dalman, the owner of the Yamaha Mio 125 motorcycle reported that his motorbike parked in Bgy. Durungao, Bauan, Batangas was stolen.
The suspects were last seen fleeing towards the nearby Bgy. Inicbulan.
Personnel of the RHPU 4A and the local police immediately conducted pursuit operation that resulted in the capture of the suspects and the recovery of the stolen motorbike.
Charges for violation of Republic Act 10883 or the New Anti-Carnapping Act of 2016. were filed against the arrested suspects.
“The successful arrest of the suspects and the recovery of the stolen motorcycle were significant accomplishments for the RHPU 4A. It is a testament to the unit’s commitment to conducting intensified anti-carnapping operations, through the leadership of Highway Patrol Group Director Brig. Gen. Alan M. Nazarro, in line with the chief PNP’s strategy of implementing aggressive and honest law enforcement measures to combat carnapping, highway robbery, and other forms of criminality along the highways,” Estolano said.
