MABALACAT CITY COLLEGE GETS SPOT IN THE AWARDS ASIA 2024 SHORTLIST

THE Mabalacat City College (MCC) has been included in the shortlist of the  prestigious Times Higher Education (THE) Awards Asia 2024.

Mayor Crisostomo Garbo said with over 600 entries submitted, the shortlisting of MCC is a testament to the college’s relentless pursuit of academic distinction and its significant contributions to higher education.

Garbo congratulated MCC and its president, Dr. Michelle Aguilar-Ong, for the feat.

“On behalf of the city and the Mabalaqueños, I extend our warmest congratulations to Mabalacat City College and its president Mich Ong for being shortlisted in the THE Awards Asia 2024,” the mayor said.

“This is not only a proud moment for the college but also for our entire city. MCC’s commitment to fostering an environment of excellence and innovation is truly inspiring, and this recognition is richly deserved,” he added.

Sangguniang Panlungsod’s Committee on Education chair councilor Noel Castro also hailed MCC.

“MCC’s inclusion in the 2024 shortlist is an honor that serves as an inspiration for other institutions in the region. It reflects the college’s dedication to creating a culture of excellence that resonates with the dynamic and diverse educational landscape of Asia,” Castro said.

Meanwhile, Dr. Ong said that as the spotlight shines on the stories of success and innovation across the continent, MCC stands out as an example of how higher education can drive positive change and development.

She urged the college’ faculty, staff members, and students to take pride in this significant achievement and to continue pursuing their passion for making a difference through education.

The THE Awards Asia is a celebration of the outstanding achievements of universities and colleges, focusing on a range of categories that demonstrate the institutions’ commitment to teaching excellence, research innovation, and positive societal impact.
