3,000 COPS SECURE LABOR DAY CELEBRATION IN CENTRAL LUZON

CAMP OLIVAS, City of San Fernando, Pampanga – Police Regional Office 3 (PRO3) Director Brig. Gen. Jose Hidalgo Jr. has deployed 3,291 personnel across Central Luzon to secure the observance of Labor Day.

Officers were sent to various public convergence points such as freedom parks and transportation hubs in anticipation of mass actions organized by labor and political groups throughout the region on May 1.

In a directive, Hidalgo emphasized the importance of adhering to the PNP’s policy of “maximum tolerance” when managing mass gatherings and protests during this significant day for labor advocacy.

Around 50 members of the Kilusan Para sa Pambansang Demokrasiya from Bataan assembled on Miranda Street near San Nicholas Market in Bgy. San Nicholas, Angeles City to commemorate Labor Day. 

The group raised concerns and aired grievances against the current government during the gathering. Subsequently, they peacefully dispersed from the area.

Hidalgo highlighted the ongoing presence of Police Assistance Desks (PADs) and Motorists Assistance Centers (MACs) strategically positioned at convergence points, including bus terminals, airports, seaports, recreational areas, highways, main thoroughfares, and crime-prone zones. 

The enhanced police visibility and support will be maintained until May 31, in alignment with the “Ligtas Sumvac 2024” campaign to ensure public safety during the summer vacation.
