A 24-YEAR-OLD mother and her 7-year-old daughter on Tuesday died while her 2-year-old child was injured when a dump truck sideswept the motorcycle they we riding in Bulacan.
In a report to Police Regional Office 3 director Brig. Gen. Jose Hidalgo Jr., the Bulacan police identified the fatalities as Rosemarie de Leon, 24, and her daughter Princess, 7.
The injured was Rosemarie’s 2-year-old daughter, Angel.
Police said the victims are residents of Sitio Gulod, Bgy. Niugan, Angat, Bulacan.
The victims were on a motorcycle travelling on Gen. Alejo Highway in Bgy. Niyugan, Angat, Bulacan when a dump truck being driven by Paulino de Leon Jr., 45, of Dizon Compound, Payumo St., Bgy. Bangkal, Norzagaray, Bulacan, tried to overtake but instead hit them.
The impact made the motorbike to crash on the road, causing severe head and body injuries on the de Leons.
Members of the Angat Rescue Team rushed the mother and her kids to the Castro Medical Hospital in Baliwag, Bulacan, where Rosemarie and Princess were declared dead upon arrival.
Angel is still being treated at the same hospital.
Responding lawmen arrested the dump truck driver who will be charged with reckless imprudence resulting in double homicide and physical injury.
