AT least 151 Sangguniang Kabataan (SK) officials attending a seminar in a hotel at the Subic Bay Freeport Zone on Tuesday were rushed to different hospitals due to suspected food poisoning.
Based on a report submitted to Police Regional Office 3 director Brig. Gen. Jose Hidalgo Jr. by the Subic police, the victims were SK officials from San Carlos City, Pangasinan.
The SK officials were attending a Gender Awareness Sensitivity seminar being held at Subic Bay Travellers Hotel located on Raymundo St. in Subic Bay Freeport Zone.

Initial probe showed that the 151 seminar attendees were served food for lunch.
A SK kagawad of Bgy. Inerangan, San Carlos City, Pangasinan told probers that prior to the suspected food poisoning, they were served menudo, fried chicken, and chopsuey.
After eating, the participants experienced severe stomach pain, diarrhea, and vomiting. They were rushed to different hospitals for treatment.
Food samples from the hotel were taken by the police forensics team for testing.
The Subic Bay Metropolitan Authority (SBMA) is now investigating the incident through its Public Health and Safety Department.
