POLICE OFFICIAL, WIFE SHOT DEAD IN MUNTINLUPA HOME

AN official of the Muntinlupa Police Station and his wife early Monday morning were shot dead inside their house in Alabang, Muntinlupa.

Slain were Capt. Aminoden Mangonday, chief of the Community Affairs Section of the Muntinlupa Police, and his wife Mary Grace, both 40-years-old.

The couple’s 12-year-old daughter was injured after she too was shot by the suspect.

Investigation showed the unidentified armed man, who was wearing black jacket and pants opened the gate of the victims in Tierra Villas on Ilaya Street at about 1:10 a.m. Monday.

The suspect then proceeded to the second floor and  shot Mangonday, who was then sleeping on the sala.

The unidentified gunman was able to enter the house after the door in the second floor was left open.

After shooting the police official, the suspect proceeded to the bedroom and shot the woman who was also sleeping.

The daughter of the victims, who was in her bedroom, heard the commotion but was also shot by the suspect who immediately fled after the gun attack.

Last July, Mangonday was recognized for being an “Outstanding PCAD (Police Community Affairs and Development) Junior Police Commissioned Officer.”

Authorities have three persons of interest in the killing but refused to elaborate as investigation is still ongoing.

“Meron na kaming tatlong POIs (persons of interest).Isang anggulong tinitignan namin ay kung saan ‘yung misis ay idinemanda po ‘yung tatlong personalities po sa kanyang business… Online live selling ng cosmetics. Dahil sa matagal na nila itong sinimulan, malaki na rin ang involved na pera,” said Muntinlupa police chief investigator Capt. Fernando Niefes in a television interview.

Meanwhile, National Capital Region Police Office director Maj. Gen. Melencio C. Nartatez Jr. has ordered Southern Police District (SPD) director Brig. Gen. Leon Victor Z. Rosete to look into all possible motives behind the killing of the victims and immediately identify and arrest the suspect.
