CAMP VICENTE LIM, Calamba, Laguna – Three people on Thursday died in a fire that razed their house in Teresa, Rizal.
Teresa police chief Maj. Edzel Macasero identified the fatalities as Narciso Santos, 71, and his grandchildren Skyler Bolante, 10, and Amber Santos, 7.
Santos and his grandchildren were trapped in their house at Blk. 20, Lot 11, Carissa Homes East 2 in Bgy. San Gabriel, Teresa town.
The victims were asleep in the bedroom when the fire broke out around 11:53 a.m. on Thursday.
Responding firefighters discovered the bodies during clearing operation.
Authorities believed the three died of suffocation.
Investigation is ongoing on what started the fire.
