A SPORTS utility vehicle possibly connected to missing Miss Grand Philippines bet 2023 Catherine Camilon was found in Batangas City, the Criminal Investigation and Detection Group (CIDG) 4A said Friday.
According to CIDG 4A chief Col. Jacinto “Jac” Malinao Jr., witnesses saw the vehicle abandoned in the village since Thursday.
Members of the Batangas police recovered the red Honda CR-V in a vacant lot at the corner of Dumuclay Road and Star Tollway in Bgy. Pallocan East, Batangas City.
The SUV was brought to the Batangas Provincial Police Office to undergo forensic tests.
Earlier this week, two witnesses who came forward to the CIDG 4-A said they saw a bloodied woman being transferred by three men from a Nissan Juke to a Honda CR-V on the night of October 12, hours before the 26-year-old Camilon was reported missing.
Before she went missing, Camilon, of Tuy town, called up her family to say she was in Bauan and was going to meet someone.
On October 27, the Police Regional Office 4-A identified a police officer as a “person of interest” in Camilon’s disappearance.
The officer was relieved from his post and was transferred to the region’s Personnel Holding and Accounting Unit.
A P250,000 reward was offered for anyone who has credible information on the whereabouts of the beauty pageant bet who is also a teacher.
