TWO Korean nationals on Thursday were allegedly suffocated to death inside the sauna room of a beach resort in Mabini, Batangas.
Police identified the victims as Sun Tae Kim, 67, and Yun Seok Seo, 63.
A fellow Korean, Hak Neung Kim, 59, also suffocated and was taken to a hospital.
Initial investigation showed the three Koreans were billeted as guests in a beach resort in Bgy. Mainit in Mabini town.
At around 3 a.m. on Thursday, the three, who were reportedly drunk, went to the sauna room of the resort.
Two hours later, when the sauna attendants checked on them, the three were found unconscious and lying on the floor.
The victims were rushed to the hospital, where Kim and Seo were declared dead on arrival.
Kim is still under observation at the hospital.
Authorities are conducting a follow-up investigation.
Police said the bodies of the fatalities will be subjected to a post mortem examination to determine the real cause of their deaths.
