AKAY national political party on Thursday was inaugurated in San Pablo City, Laguna.
The guest of honor and speaker in the event was Baguio City Mayor Benjamin Magalong.
AKAY party chairman former congresswoman Sol Aragones led the oathtaking of the candidates and members from different parts of the country during the formal launching of the group held at the Palacios Event Place in Bgy. San Miguel in San Pablo City.

AKAY national political party or the alliance for the upliftment and growth of the nation was conceptualized in Laguna.
The Commission on Elections (Comelec) approved the creation of the group this year.
AKAY can now nominate candidates for various national positions, including the president and vice president, and can field candidates for regional and local positions.
Aragones said part of the group’s advocacy is to uplift the lives of those sectors in need, including persons with disabilities, solo parents, and senior citizens,
The group’s principle centers on compassion and commitment for truth for the people and the nation.
AKAY’s party president is Vice Mayor Tony Aurelio of Rizal, Laguna while former reporter Doland Castro is the secretary general.
Among the party’s advocacies are the establishment of a tertiary hospital in the province of Laguna and the giving of health assistance to the other provinces.
Education is also AKAY’s priority through the scholarship programs not just for high achievers but also for those who desire to finish their studies despite having low grades.
Tourism is also important to the party, believing that with tourism comes employment.
The group also vowed to support local products and businesses.
“Malayo-layo pa ang lalakbayin ng AKAY ngunit habang tayo ay patuloy na nagkakaisa sa pagtupad ng ating pangarap, tayo ay magtatagumpay ,” Aragones said.
