MANDANAS COUPLE. Batangas Gov. Hermilando Mandanas and his wife, attorney Angelica Chua, following their exchange of vows at the Basilica of the Immaculate Conception Batangas on May 8. The new first lady of the province is nearly 50 years younger than Mandanas, who is now 80 years old. Chua is the daughter of Judge Maria Cecilia Austria Chua, who was the brain behind the Mandanas ruling, which allowed local governments to have a share in revenues collected by the Bureau of Customs (BOC). The couple reportedly began dating this year, less than two years after Mandanas’ wife, Anakalusugan Party-list nominee Regina Reyes died.
