THREE people, including a police official, were arrested for alleged carnapping in Baclaran, Parañaque.
Nabbed were Lt. Col. Gideon Ines Jr., 52; Lyn Tuazon, 52; and Michael Bautista, 42.
The trio were arrested in Baclaran on June 5 for allegedly selling a multi-purpose vehicle (MPV) rented in Bamban, Tarlac.
Prior to the arrest, the owner of the MPV sought help from the Highway Patrol Group (HPG) after learning that her car was being sold without her knowledge..
According to the complainant, the supposed buyer of her vehicle contacted her through a messaging app to verify if she is indeed the registered owner of the vehicle that was being sold for P350,000.
The complainant told the police that the vehicle was rented from her by Michael Perez Bautista on June 2.
She said the rent was for two days but the vehicle was not returned on time until the supposed buyer contacted her.
Authorities immediately planned an operation that led to the arrest of the suspects and the recovery of the MPV.
