CAMP GEN. MIGUEL MALVAR, Batangas City – Joint operatives on Sunday arrested a 34-year-old man following the confiscation of firearms of different calibers and various ammunition during the implementation of a search warrant in Bgy. Bagbag, Tanauan City, Batangas.
Batangas Police Provincial Office director Col. Jacinto “Jac” Malinao Jr. identified the arrested suspect as alias “Jad.”
According to Malinao, joint personnel of the Batangas Police Provincial Office, Special Weapons and Tactics, 403rd Regional Mobile Force Battalion and the Tanauan City Police Station launched the search at 5:20 a.m. up to 3:20 p.m. on July 14 based on a search warrant issued by Judge Nevic C. Adolfo of the Regional Trial Court (RTC) Branch 83, of Tanauan City for violation of Republic Act 10591 or the Comprehensive e Firearms and Ammunition Regulation Act.
The seized arsenal included five Glock pistols of various serial numbers, 10 pistols of assorted calibers, multiple magazines and ammunition, holsters and ammunition storage containers.

According to Malinao, the operation is also to ensure a safe and secure May 2025 midterm elections.
“Intensifying our campaign against loose firearms is part of our comprehensive crime prevention and solution strategy in line with the program thrust of the Police Regional Office – Calabarzon under Brig. Gen. Paul Kenneth Lucas,” said the Batangas top cop.
Malinao commended all personnel involved in the operation for a job well done.
“This operation serves as a testament to our commitment in keeping our communities safe and secure. This also a preventive measure against loose firearms that may possibly be used in the commission of crimes this coming midterm elections,” Malinao said.
“Working together with the community is essential to keep our neighborhood safe. Everyone’s help is needed to prevent crime and threats in society. We encourage everyone to remain vigilant and report any suspicious activities to the authorities immediately,” he added.
Authorities are investigating if the suspect is into gunrunning or if he is a member of a private armed group.
The arrested suspect and the confiscated illegal guns and ammunition are in the custody of the Provincial Intelligence Unit of the Batangas PPO for processing and documentation.
