THE government has already identified employees of the Bureau of Immigration (BI) behind the escape of dismissed Bamban, Tarlac Mayor Alice Guo, according to President Ferdinand R. Marcos Jr.
On the sidelines of the oathtaking ceremony of the newly-elected officers of several media groups on Tuesday at Malacañan Palace, President Marcos told reporters that they will spare no one in the pursuit of truth.
President Marcos said Department of Justice (DOJ) Secretary Jesus Crispin Remulla is “almost finished with a very thorough investigation” on Guo’s case.
The DOJ will be able to “identify all of those who are involved in this,” he added.
The President stressed that the government will act very quickly on Guo’s case.
“Very, very good idea. I have a very good idea… from the BI,” President Marcos remarked when asked if he already has an idea on whose heads will roll in the investigation on Guo’s escape from Philippine authorities, referring to the Bureau of Immigration.
“That’s what the last part of this — how far, how deep does it go, isa lang bang tao ang involved, or marami sila, o sindikato ito. That’s what we’re looking at now. There are no sacred cows,” the President added.
Senator Sherwin Gatchalian recently disclosed that the BI was aware of Guo’s escape but kept President Marcos in the dark about her whereabouts.
