THREE officers, including a police major, who were among the seven armed men who reportedly robbed a bussinessman at his house in Balagtas, Bulacan, on Thursday were arrested in a follow-up operation by the authorities.
In a report to Police Regional Office 3 director Brig. Gen. Jose Hidalgo Jr., the Bulacan police identified the arrested suspects as PMaj. Armando Reyes, 55, assigned at the Hagonoy Police Station; PSSg Anthony Ancheta, 48, detailed at the Malolos City PNP; and PSMS Ronnie Galion, 43, assigned at the Sta. Maria Police Station.
Police said victim Esmeraldo Magbitang Jr., 40, a businessman and a pharmaceutical supplier residing in Bgy. Borol 2nd, Balagtas, Bulacan, informed them that at least seven armed men entered his compound, pretending to ask for financial assistance.
Magbitang said the suspects suddenly pulled out their guns and declared a holdup.
The victim said the armed men went inside his house then took cellphones, bags, gadgets and a still undetermined amount of money before fleeing in a Toyota Avanza with plate no. NBY4429.
Members of the Balagtas police, Provincial Intelligence Unit-Bulacan, Provincial Investigation and Detective Management Unit, Provincial Mobile Force Company and the Bulakan SWAT Team conducted a follow-up operation that led to the arrest of the three suspects.
Police are conducting an operation to arrest the other suspects.
