FIFTEEN fishermen went missing at the height of tropical storm “Enteng” in Quezon, the Philippine Coast Guard (PCG) on Wednesday said.
Those missing are boat captain Alexander K. Mahinay, 35; and his crewmen Edilberto M. Renegio, 49; Noel Cantela, 48; Rodrigo S. Beracis, 46, Rolly S. Rational, 40; Alex Balog, 40; Robert T. Yanag, 37; Alan B. Alicando, 34; Cyril C. Legaspi, 30; Wendel M. Lucero, 27; Randy R. Carpon, 26; Jason William D. Masato, 24; Renaldo A. Labo , 21; Kingjayler B. Mahinay, 20; and Rogan D. Beracis, 19.
The 15 are all residents of Visayan Village, Bgy. Dinahican, Infanta, Quezon.
According to the PCG in northern Quezon, Noreen Soronel, owner of FBCA Zshan, reported to their station in Infanta town that she had lost contact with the boat captain of the fishing vessel on Tuesday, September 3.
Soronel said the boat had 15 fishermen on board.
She said the last contact was when the fishermen were in the vicinity of [1]Kalongkoan Island in Bgy. Calotcot, Bordeos Quezon.
The PCG, Philippine Air Force helicopter, Philippine National Police, and other fishing boats in northern Quezon are now conducting search and rescue operation.
