A SOLDIER on Sunday drowned while swimming at a resort in Gen. Tinio, Nueva Ecija.
A report to Police Regional Office 3 director Brig. Gen. Jean Fajardo showed the victim was a 38-year-old member of the Philippine Army residing in Victoria, Tarlac.
Prior to the drowning incident, police were told by the 102nd Infantry Battalion, 51nfantry Division Isabela acting company commander that they conducted a team-building activity at the resort.
Fellow soldiers said they last saw the victim around 3 p.m. of the same day but during personnel accounting at 5 p.m., they discovered that the victim was missing.
The group searched for the victim and found him unconscious and submerged in one of the swimming pools in the resort.
The soldier was rushed to the Medicare Hospital, where he was declared dead upon arrival.
