CLARKFIELD, PAMPANGA – Some 4,491 pieces of party drug tablets known as ecstasy worth P7,634,700 on Wednesday were confiscated in an operation at the Port of Clark in Pampanga.
The Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency (PDEA) Clark Interdiction Unit said the shipment containing the illegal drugs originated from Belgium and arrived at the Port of Clark on March 29.
“PDEA International Cooperation and Foreign Affairs Service (ICFAS) received an information that a certain parcel from Belgium will arrived at Port of Clark. The said information was relayed by PDEA Intelligence Service (PDEA IS) to PDEA Regional Office 3, which led to the successful interdiction operation,” the PDEA said.
In the presence of PDEA Clark personnel and other witnesses, the Bureau of Custom Port of Clark examined the package containing the ecstasy and tests yielded positive result.
The NBI Pampanga District Office, PNP Aviation Security Unit 3, PNP Drug Enforcement Group, PDEA IS, and PDEA SES K-9 Unit also joined the operation.
