SEVEN people on Tuesday were found dead following a knife attack inside a bakery in Antipolo City, Rizal.
The Police Regional Office 4A (PRO 4A) said the victims were all workers of the bakery in Bgy. Cupang in Antipolo City.
An initial investigation showed the victims were stabbed while they were sleeping inside the bakery.
The gruesome murder was discovered when a customer went to the bakery to buy pandesal and heard someone from inside pleading for help.
The customer immediately sought police’ help.
The bodies were discovered around 6 a.m. Tuesday.
The suspect later surrendered to the authorities and is now in the custody of the Antipolo City Police and the Rizal Police Provincial Office.
According to the suspect, who claimed ownership of the bakery, he killed the victims in self-defense.
The suspect alleged that the victims had plotted to kill him by smothering him with a pillow and making it appear to his wife that he had died in his sleep from a nightmare or “bangungot.”
Authorities are investigating if there were other suspects involved in the multiple killings.
