A MASKED man on Monday night fired shots at the house of a town secretary in Palauig, Zambales.
A report to Police Regional Office (PRO3) director Brig. Gen. Jean Fajardo by the Zambales police identified the owner of the house as Glen Elayda, 59, of Bgy. Salaza, Palauig, Zambales.
Elayda is the municipal secretary of the mayor of Masinloc, Zambales.
An initial investigation showed the incident happened around 10 p.m. on Monday.
The victim and his family were inside the house when they heard successive gunshots outside but they ignored it and instead went to sleep.
When the family woke up the next day, they saw the main door was hit by several bullets, prompting them to report the matter to the police.
A neighbor told the police that he saw a man wearing a full mask on a motorcycle stopped in front of the house of the Elaydas and fired several shots at the gate before speeding off.
Recovered at the site were eight fired bullets of a cal. .45 gun and a letter with a black ribbon.
Police are reviewing the CCTV footage in the area to identify and arrest the gunman.
