FORMER Vice President Leni Robredo on Tuesday was proclaimed by the City Board of Canvassers as the winner in the mayoral race in Naga City.
Robredo made history as the first female mayor of Naga City.
She was declared winner with over 84,000 votes or over 91% of the votes cast.
Robredo defeated her rivals Leonida Abrazado, Restituto De Quiros, and Luis Ortega.
With her victory, Robredo said it only proves that the fight for good governance should be relentless and nurtured.
“Kagagaling lang namin sa pinakamatinding baha, so kailangan namin ayusin ‘yung mga infrastructure na makakatulong sa amin para maging resilient,” Robredo told GMA Integrated News.
Robredo, who made her presidential bid in 2022 but lost, took the opportunity to lead the city where her late husband, Jesse Robredo, once served as mayor.
She said she plans to continue the good governance under her late husband’s administration.
Robredo said she will prioritize basic services such as water, electricity, traffic, and flood control.
She also vowed to restore Nagueños’ trust in genuine and transparent governance
