TWO children who were reported missing on Monday night were found dead following a fire that hit 38 houses in Sta. Mesa, Manila.
The names of the victims were being verified.
Two others were also injured – one sustained head injuries, while another suffered minor burns on his back.
Initial probe showed the fire started in a house in Bgy. 628, Anonas St., Sta. Mesa, Manila around 4 p.m. Monday.
Prior to the blaze, residents said they heard an explosion.
The fire spread quickly as the houses were made of light materials.
Some buildings of a school and vehicles were also damaged by the blaze.
Authorities are investigating the cause of the fire that reached fourth alarm.
The fire was declared under control at 6:50 p.m..
