CAMP OLIVAS, City of San Fernando, Pampanga — A total of 197 police officers from various provinces of Central Luzon received a “heroes welcome” after their deployment to the Bangsamoro Autonomous Region in Muslim Mindanao (BARMM) for the May 12 midterm elections.
In recognition of their demonstrated courage, efficiency, and integrity in the performance of duty in an area with high security threats, they were awarded the “PNP Heroism Medal” in an awarding ceremony held at this camp.
According to Police Regional Office 3 (PRO3) director Brig. Gen. Jean Fajardo, the medal is a symbol of the sacrifice and bravery shown by the police officers in fulfilling their duties amidst security challenges.
“The awarding of the Medal of Excellence is a fitting recognition for the courage, concern, and dedication you have shown for the peace and order of our country. This is proof that the Central Luzon police are reliable, courageous, and faithful to their sworn duty,” said Fajardo.
The honored police officers from the Regional Mobile Force Battalion 3, Provincial and City Mobile Forces, and other units of PRO3 were tasked in implementing security at voting centers, conducting checkpoints, and ensuring the smooth and safe conduct of the election in identified critical areas in the BARMM.
As part of the celebration, a boodle fight was also held as an expression of gratitude, camaraderie, and recognition of the service of the returning police officers.
Fajardo said the “heroes’ welcome” is a reminder of the important role our police officers play as the silent heroes behind successful and peaceful elections—defenders of democracy and true servants of the people.
