THREE persons on Wednesday night were killed while six others were injured when a trailer truck carrying construction materials plowed into vehicles and pedestrians on Batasan-San Mateo Road in Quezon City.
The names of the victims were being verified.
Witnesses told police that the truck was running very fast while traversing the downhill portion of the road.
The 38-year-old driver told probers that they were on their way to Marikina when he lost control of the truck until it went through the opposite lane and hit other vehicles, including an AUV and three motorcycles.
A man, who was at a waiting shed, was struck by the truck and died on the spot.
A motorcycle rider also died while another victim was brought to the hospital but was declared dead on arrival.
Responding lawmen arrested the truck driver who will be facing charges for reckless imprudence resulting in multiple homicide, multiple physical injuries, and damage to property.
