A STRONG earthquake on Tuesday hit off Davao Oriental, the Philippine Institute of Volcanology and Seismology (Phivolcs) said.
Phivolcs said the 6.3 magnitude quake was felt at 9:58 a.m. Tuesday.
The epicenter of the tremor, which was tectonic in origin, was traced at 341 kms. east of Baganga, Davao Oriental, with a depth of 34 kms..
There is no destructive tsunami threat to the coastlines, according to Phivolcs.
Intensity 3 was recorded in Bislig City, Surigao del Sur; and Tarragona and Boston, Davao Oriental.
Intensity 2 shook Lingig, Surigao del Sur; Baganga, San Isidro, Mati City; Manay, and Caraga, Davao Oriental; Glan, Sarangani City; Tagum City, Davao del Norte; Davao City; Santa Cruz, Davao del Sur; and Tulunan in Cotabato.
Intensity was felt in Barobo and Tagbina, Surigao del Sur; Governor Generoso, and Cateel, Davao Oriental; Dagos City in Davao del Sur and M’lang in Cotabato.
