STRESSING the importance of accessible healthcare, President Ferdinand R. Marcos Jr. on Wednesday led the turnover of 387 patient transport vehicles (PTVs) to local government officials in Luzon to ensure the safe and timely transport of patients.
President Marcos was joined by Philippine Charity Sweepstakes Office (PCSO) officials led by General Manager Mel Robles and LGU officials in Luzon for the ceremonial turnover held at the Quirino Grandstand in Rizal Park, Manila.
“Laging masaya itong mga event na ito dahil sa wakas ‘yung marami sa ating mga LGU at mga cities at saka municipalities na hanggang ngayon ay hindi pa nagkaroon ng ambulansiya, hindi pa nagkaroon ng ganitong Patient Transport Vehicle ay magkakaroon na,” President Marcos said.
“At ‘yun pang hindi pa nabigyan ay magkakaroon din,” added the President, to applause by local executives.
Of the total 387 PTVs distributed, Ilocos Region (Region I) received 30 units; Cagayan Valley (Region II), 72; Central Luzon (Region III), 100; Calabarzon (Region IV-A), 27; Mimaropa (Region IV- B), 59; Bicol (Region V), 64; and the Cordillera Administrative Region, 35.
President Marcos handed symbolic vehicle keys to various LGU executives representing the recipients.
From July 2022 to June 2025, a total of 680 PTVs have already been distributed to LGUs nationwide.
Each PTV is equipped with essential medical tools, including a stretcher, oxygen tank, blood pressure monitor, and other supplies for patients.
