A 78-YEAR-OLD Korean national crossing the road on Thursday died after he was struck by a vehicle being driven by another Korean national in Angeles City, Pampanga.
A report to Police Regional Office 3 (PRO3) director Brig. Gen. Ponce Rogelio Peñones Jr. by the Angeles City Police Station identified the fatality as Gong Soo, a resident of Fil-Am Friendship, Bgy. Pampang, Angeles City.
Soo was crossing the Fil-Am Friendship Highway in front of Kakao Building when a black SUV with plate number NFM3100 being driven by Hyun, a 41-year-old Korean national, of Poblacion, Makati City, hit him.
The victim was thrown on the pavement and sustained serious head and body injuries.
The Korean driver rushed the victim to the PRI Medical Center, where Soo was declared dead upon arrival.
Responding lawmen arrested the SUV driver, who is facing charges of reckless imprudence resulting in homicide.
