CAMP OLIVAS, City of San Fernando, Pampanga —The Police Regional Office 3 Team was hailed as the Best Social Media Team nationwide at the culmination of the 30th Police Community Relations (PCR) Month held at Camp Crame in Quezon City.
The PRO3 Social Media Team was tagged as the best among the 17 other police regional offices across the country.
The award was conferred in recognition of the team’s consistent and innovative efforts in leveraging social media to effectively communicate police programs, engage the public, and promote transparency and trust between the police and the community.
The PRO3 Social Media Team is led by Lt. Col. Dexter C. Versola, chief of the Regional Public Information Office (RPIO), under the leadership of PRO3 director Brig. Gen. Ponce Rogelio I. Peñones Jr.
Peñones lauded the team’s dedication to modern policing through digital platforms.
“This recognition is a testament to our commitment to build genuine connections with the public, online and offline. Our Social Media Team has become a digital frontliner in promoting peace, transparency, and community engagement, and I am proud of the professionalism and creativity they consistently bring to the service,” Peñones said.
He emphasized that the PRO3’s online communication efforts are anchored on the principle of being “Simple, Direct, and Impactful” — a core value in police-public relations that ensures information is not only accurate but also accessible and relevant to the communities they serve.
Peñones added that the social media plays a vital role in today’s law enforcement landscape, especially in combating misinformation, amplifying public safety reminders, and bridging the gap between the police and the community.
Throughout the year, the PRO3 Social Media Team has been at the forefront of timely and accurate information dissemination, crisis communication, and public relations initiatives in Central Luzon.
The Central Luzon top cop said their efforts have notably contributed to enhancing public awareness and appreciation of the programs of the Philippine National Police.
As the nation celebrates the success of the 30th PCR Month with the theme: “Sa Bagong Pilipinas, ang Gusto ng Pulis, Ligtas Ka,” the PRO3 affirms its continued commitment to harnessing the power of communication technology in building a safer, more informed, and more engaged citizenry.
