TWO children on Monday drowned in Laguna de Bay in Binangonan, Rizal.
The victims were identified as Matthew, 4, and his cousin Joseph Julian, 3, both residents of Bgy. Bombong, Binangonan town.
A report submitted to Police Regional Office 4A (Calabarzon) Regional Director Brig. Gen Jack Wanky showed that Matthew’s mother noticed his child’s slippers floating in the water around 12:20 p.m. on Monday.
The mother immediately sought help. Moments later, the kids bodies surfaced from the water.
The victims were rushed to Margarito Duavit Memorial Hospital but were declared dead on arrival.
An investigation showed the kids were walking near a waiting shed in Pritil’s Wharf when they accidentally fell into the water.
