SAN SIMON, Pampanga — A member of the Philippine Coast Guard (PCG) on Saturday was arrested by operatives of the Criminal Investigation and Detection Group (CIDG) for illegal gun peddling in Bgy. San Isidro, San Simon, Pampanga.
Nabbed was alias “Banti, 40,” a resident of San Antonio, Nueva Ecija and currently assigned to the Coast Guard Station in Manila.
The CIDG Region 3 said the entrapment was conducted in front of the Wang Xiang Lou Restaurant on Quezon Road.
The suspect was caught while selling an M4 Carbine rifle to a police poseur-buyer.
Confiscated from the suspect were one M4 Carbine 5.56mm rifle, 19 pieces of 5.56mm live ammunition, one steel magazine, and the marked and boodle money.

An investigation showed the suspect had been offering unlicensed firearms through an online platform, which led to the entrapment.
