MABALACAT CITY, Pampanga — A Korean national on Monday was found dead and decomposing inside his rented room at Clark Freeport Zone.
A report to Police Regioal Office 3 (PRO3) director Brig. Gen. Ponce Rogelio Peñones Jr. by Mabalacat City police chief Lt. Col. Efren David identified the victim as Kim, 45, a resident of The Sharp Clark Hills.
An investigation showed that prior to the discovery of the victim’s body, occupants of the building noticed a foul odor coming from the Korean’s room.
Administrative supervisor Pearlily Cabaltica, security officer Rainer Caniela, and roving guard Roncito Cabido, all under JETGARD Security Agency, immediately informed the building management and attempted to contact the victim.
When repeated knocks went unanswered, they forcibly opened the door and found Kim’s decomposing body hanging from a rolled blanket tied inside the room.
Probers said the Korean had been staying alone in his rented room prior to the discovery of his body.
Security personnel from the Clark Development Corporation (CDC) coordinated with local police for further investigation.
