A VILLAGE councilor and his son on Monday was killed in an ambush by riding-in-tandem armed men in Ampatuan, Maguindanao del Sur.
According to Lt. Col. Jopy Ventura, spokesperson for the Bangsamoro Autonomous Region police, slain was Barangay Kapinpilan councilor Abusama Agao and his son, Norodin, a village watchman.
Agao’s daughter Jahara was injured.
The victims were on a tricycle driven by Norodin to attend a wedding when the ambush occurred around 8:30 a.m. Monday.
The father and his son died on the spot while the daughter was taken to Maguindanao Provincial Hospital in nearby Datu Hoffer town for treatment.
Authorities are hunting down the suspects and investigating the motive for the attack.
