TARLAC CITY — Operatives of the Criminal Investigation and Detection Group (CIDG) on Monday arrested two elderly men for illegal sale of gun in Bgy. Ungot, this city.
A report to CIDG Regional Field Unit 3 (RFU3) chief Col. Grant Gollod by the CIDG Pampanga Provincial Field Unit (PFU) identified the suspects as alias “Garci,” 68, and alias “Tacuba,” 74, both residents of Bgy. Ungot.
Personnel of the CIDG Pampanga Provincial Field Unit, in coordination with the Tarlac City police, launched “Oplan Paglalansag Omega” targeting individuals engaged in the illegal trade of firearms.
The two suspects were caught selling a 12-gauge shotgun to an undercover officer.
Confiscated from the suspects were one 12-gauge shotgun, 15 pieces of 12-gauge live ammunition, the marked and boodle money, and a long bag.
The arrested suspects were charged with violation of Section 32 of Republic Act 10591 or the Comprehensive Firearms and Ammunition Regulation Act.
