OPERATIVES of the Philippine National Police (PNP) recovered more than P133 million worth of cocaine floating in the coastal area of Linacapan in Palawan.
Acting PNP chief Lt. Gen. Jose Melencio C. Nartatez Jr. on Friday said that joint personnel from the Linapacan Municipal Police Station and the Palawan Police Provincial Police Drug Enforcement Unit and Intelligence Unit on Tuesday night responded to a call from a concerned resident of Bgy. Maroyog-royog.
According to the informant, an alias “Benjo” discovered packages believed to contain illegal drugs along the coastline of Sitio Calelenday.
Police immediately responded and found several boxes wrapped in black tape and marked with the word “Stone” scattered along the shoreline.
The boxes contained suspected cocaine with an estimated total weight of 25,210 grams and a standard drug price of P133,613,000.
Nartatez thanked the community’s prompt action that led to the seizure of the illegal contraband.
The recovered illegal drugs were turned over to the Palawan Provincial Forensic Unit prior to their submission to the Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency for proper handling and disposition.
