ORION, Bataan – A suspect on Wednesday was injured in a shootout with officers serving a warrant for his arrest in Bgy. General Lim, this town.
Criminal Investigation and Detection Group (CIDG) Regional Field Unit 3 chief Col. Grant Gollod identified the suspect as alias “Cabu,” 35, of Sitio Mabato, Daang Pare, Orion.
“Cabu,” who carries a P135,000 reward for his capture, is wanted for murder based on a warrant released by the Regional Trial Court Branch 3, Balanga City.
The operation, which was part of “Oplan Pagtugis” and “Oplan Paglalansag Omega drives, was carried out by members of the CIDG Olongapo CFU as lead unit, RSOT, RFU 3, RIU Zambales, Orion MPS, and MARPSTA Bataan.
Gollod said the CIDG operatives were serving a warrant of arrest against “Cabu” in Malalanse, Bgy. General Lim when the suspect allegedly opened fire at the arresting team, prompting the officers to return fire.
The suspect was hit on the left arm and left knee and was given first aid by the operatives before rushing him to a nearby hospital for further treatment.
Confiscated from the suspect were one cal. .45 pistol without serial number, a magazine, and four live bullets.
The suspect is facing charged for violation of Republic Act 10591 or the Comprehensive Law on Firearms and Ammunition.
