CAMP CAPTAIN JULIAN OLIVAS, City of San Fernando, Pampanga — A total of 1,025 security personnel have been deployed across Central Luzon to ensure the safe and orderly conduct of the 33rd Asia-Pacific Regional Scout Jamboree set from December 14 to 21.
According to Police Regional Office 3 (PRO3) director Brig. Gen. Ponce Rogelio Peñones Jr., the more than 1,000 security personnel were mobilized under a unified security plan to secure the international youth gathering.
Of the total number, more than 800 are personnel from the Philippine National Police (PNP), supported by members of the Armed Forces of the Philippines (AFP), Bureau of Fire Protection (BFP), Philippine Coast Guard (PCG), as well as force multipliers from partner agencies and local stakeholders.
The comprehensive deployment covers venue security, traffic management, crowd control, emergency response, fire safety, and other public-safety functions aimed at ensuring the peaceful and successful staging of the weeklong event.
Peñones said the heightened security measures underscore Central Luzon’s readiness to host a major international activity and reflect the strong coordination among law enforcement units and other support agencies.
He added that the security operations are aligned with the PNP Focused Agenda under the leadership of acting PNP chief Lt. Gen. Jose Melencio C. Nartatez Jr. and are anchored on PRO3’s “3Ps” framework—Protect the People, Pursue Peace and Order, and Promote Professionalism.
The PRO3 assured the public that security forces will remain on heightened alert throughout the duration of the 33rd Asia-Pacific Regional Scout Jamboree, with continuous monitoring and quick-response teams on standby from December 14 to 21 to ensure the safety of all participants, organizers, and stakeholders.
