A TOTAL of 71 firecracker-related injury cases were recorded by the provincial government of Laguna and partner health facilities during the holiday celebration from December 25 to January 1 based on consolidated data as of January 1.
JP Rizal District Hospital logged the highest number with 12 cases, supported by affiliated facilities that also reported incidents, including Calamba Medical Centet (1 case), Calamba Doctors Hospital (2 cases), and St. John the Baptist Medical Center (1 case).
Laguna Medical Center (LMC) recorded 10 firecracker-related injury cases, while San Pablo District Hospital reported 6 cases during the same monitoring period.
In San Pedro, a total of 24 cases were documented across various health facilities, including San Pedro CHO–coordinated hospitals (13 cases), Gavino Galvez Primary Care Center (8 cases), San Pedro Medical Center (1 case), and Evangelista Medical Specialty Hospital (2 cases).
San Pedro District Hospital reported zero (0) cases.
Other district hospitals across the province also attended to firecracker-related injuries, including Bay District Hospital (5 cases) and Bay RHU-BHS (2 cases), Nagcarlan District Hospital (1 case), Majayjay District Hospital (2 cases), Luisiana District Hospital (2 cases), and Cailles District Hospital (4 cases).
Provincial health officials reiterated their call for the public to observe safe and responsible practices during celebrations and to immediately seek medical attention in case of firecracker related injuries.
