POLICE have launched a manhunt after a detainee bolted out of the Zambales Provincial Jail in Bgy. Palanginan, Iba, Zambales.
In a report to Police Regional Office 3 (PRO3) director Brig. Gen. Ponce Rogelio Peñones Jr., jail officials discovered the escape on Tuesday of alias “Maglonzo,” 38.
The escapee is a native of Manila and a resident of Bgy. Lipay in Sta. Cruz, Zambales.
“Maglonzo” reportedly managed to flee the facility after running past security while a guard was assisting another inmate.
According to prison guard assistant Arnold Soriano, the incident occurred near Post 2 of the jail facility.
Soriano reported that Maglonzo abruptly ran out through the Post 2 gate and proceeded directly toward the facility’s main gate, eventually exiting the compound.
A cellphone call from the Zambales Provincial Jail alerted police about the escape, prompting an immediate response.
Personnel from the Iba police quickly coordinated with other law enforcement agencies to conduct pursuit operations and establish possible checkpoints to locate and arrest the fugitive.
