CITY OF SAN FERNANDO, Pampanga — Operatives of the Criminal Investigation and Detection Group (CIDG) dismantled an illegal cockfighting ring on Holy Week in Lubao, Pampanga.
CIDG Regional Field Unit 3 chief Col. Grant Gollod said CIDG men conducted an entrapment operation against illegal cockfighting or “tupada” in Bgy. San Vicente in Lubao.
Three persons were arrested. They were identified as alias “Cerio,” 20, a bettor and gamecock owner; alias “Gene,” 23, a bet taker; and alias “Albin,” 56, a referee or “sentenciador.”
Confiscated were two live fighting cocks, two gaffs, a dead gamecock, P5,200 bet money, a medical kit, and gamecock transport boxes.
The suspects were caught in the act of betting and conducting illegal cockfighting, in violation of Presidential Decree 449, as amended by PD 1602.
The suspects were brought to the CIDG Pampanga Provincial Field Unit while charges are being reading for filing in court against them.
